Customer Reviews
Bought this extension pole pruner mainly to help remove ripened pear fruit from a tree in my backyard. Pears don't often fall naturally from trees when they ripen like apples do, and some fruit were as high up as 16 feet off the ground (couldn't climb this tree or shake the fruit down either).
So anyway, the first time I used it, I was able to prune off 38 pears in just 15 minutes which is much better than I expected to do. The pruner blades have both sharpened and serrated edges to help facilitate the cutting of stems and branches. The telescoping bar has preformed holes in it to extend and lock the bar in place at one foot intervals (five holes in all). The total bar length is actually closer to nine feet than ten, but when you add the saw attachment, you add another foot or so to your reach giving you ten feet plus your height plus your arm extension.
The tooth saw attachment blade is very sharp, about 13 inches long, and basically just screws in (red turn screw) near the top of the bar using the smaller middle hole on the blade. I mention this here only because you are left to figure this out for yourself (no instructions are included). I won't have a chance to use the saw tooth blade until this winter for branch pruning, but I do not anticipate any problems.
This item is a little pricey due to the added saw tooth blade, but in my opinion, it should last for some years, and it certainly will be cheaper than paying a contractor to do the work every year.
