Customer Reviews

The Garden Weasel is one of the only hand tools that will loosen the hard clay here in my county - other than a tiller - I love it and it helped me weed my entire garden this summer and will again for many years to come. This is my second one and the only reason I needed a new one was because someone gave my other one away.

This product works great to loosen and aerate soils in gardens or around trees. I live in an area with lots of clay and to break up the soil, I did have to lightly soak the area the night before I was going to use the Weasel, but it worked great. The Weasel broke up the soil and was a tremendous help in adding in compost to the area.
I will say, that the area I used this tool on had been tilled with a gas-powered tiller 2 years prior...so if you're working with a hard, never-been-tilled area, this might not be the tool for you because even though it makes a hard job easy, it's still pretty physically intensive to use this tool. You will break a sweat, but if you love gardening, it's soooo worth it. I consider this tool something to have for maintenance of gardens, not for the creation or building of them, especially if you have lots of additives to add to your soil like we do here in central Texas.
