This tool seems to be well constructed and works well in the limited use I have so far tasked it with. The tines will penetrate with a bit of work and pressure 3 to 4" in even hard unbroken ground and easily tills good garden soil. Changing and set up of tines for specific jobs is fairly easily done too. I have hit small rocks and "hard as concrete" clay (caliche) with no significant damage to tines, and it is reasonably effective in breaking up large pieces of the caliche.
Now if so good why only 4 stars? It is really NOT "long handled". I am slightly under 6' tall and can only work a few inches in front of myself without bending. Probably excellent for some one 5'4" or less, but if you are tall, "long" handled does not apply.
I got this for my husband and he was just thrilled. Says it has made weeding our large garden so much easier.
